What we do

Working together with you

Our mentoring for leaders is delivered through a distinct approach: confidential, high-touch and tailored to each individual. We operate independently, with no agenda beyond the leader themselves. This creates a uniquely open and trusted space for reflection, challenge and growth.

Meet the Mentors

I have a fantastic relationship with my mentor that has been built over an extended period, but which was established quickly at our initial retreat. The intensity and exploration of the retreat was a supercharged way of getting to know and trust each other from the start. My mentor has helped me adjust to new roles and new environments, navigate challenging stakeholder relations and stay focused on what is important to me. She regularly reminds me how to use my strengths and gives me perspective. I know I wouldn’t have had the success I’ve had without her help.

Clare Gilmartin,

CEO

We held a two-day workshop with my Leadership Team as part of our development activities to create a high performing team. The way the workshop was developed really helped us grow as individuals and as a team and in two days we were clearer on who we were as a team, what we wanted to achieve and how we were going to behave to achieve it. What really stands the test of time is that as a team we revisited the outcomes many times to ensure we were on the right track and truly were able to hold ourselves accountable. That workshop created the foundations for us to become one of the highest performing teams in the business.

Brendan O’Rourke,

Former CIO, BT Group

My mentoring experience stands out as the most impactful executive development I have ever encountered. I have matured and turned a corner in understanding myself and how to be successful in global organisations.

Senior Vice President,

Global Real Estate

It was important for me to have a safe space to think about my development as a leader and have dedicated periods of self-reflection. My mentor ensured that I put myself in the shoes of other stakeholders.

Milena Mondini de Focatiis,

CEO, Admiral Group

It was hugely helpful to engage with structured learning like this on how one can chair a Board. I had thought I was learning enough by observing the Chairs of my Boards was enough until I became a Chair. People said out loud in these sessions about issues that I was wrangling with in my first 3-6 months of taking up my role.

The Original Mentor

Mentoring has its roots in one of the oldest leadership stories. In Homer’s Odyssey, Mentor was entrusted with guiding the young Telemachus while Odysseus was away — not by directing him, but by offering judgement, perspective and wisdom born of experience. This enduring idea of counsel, grounded in trust rather than instruction, remains the essence of mentoring today.

That same tradition sits at the heart of Global Mentors Group today.

We exist to provide leaders with access to seasoned peers who have walked the path before them, offering the clarity, judgement and discretion required to lead at the highest level.
