Our story

The global standard in leadership mentoring

Mentoring is one of the world’s oldest leadership traditions. For centuries, those carrying responsibility have sought the counsel of people who have already walked the path – not for instruction, but for perspective, judgement and wisdom shaped by experience.

Today, as leadership becomes more complex and more exposed, that need has never been greater.

Global Mentors Group was created to meet this moment.

Born of a long-held belief in the power of mentoring, we provide senior leaders with access to experienced peers in a confidential, unconflicted space.

As leaders rise, finding the right support becomes harder. Few people truly understand the pressures at the top. That is why we have built a world-class community of more than 200 senior business leaders. Over half have served as Chairs or CEOs of global organisations. They mentor through experience, insight, and deep engagement. There is no other community like it in the world.

Mentoring makes a measurable difference. For more than two decades, senior leaders have turned to our mentors for perspective, clarity and sound judgement. Evidence consistently shows the positive impact of mentoring on leadership effectiveness.

Guided by that knowledge, we support leaders as they move from good to great – and help them sustain excellence with the insight and clarity required for lasting transformation.

Our story

Built to support leaders and organisations

Global Mentors Group brings together several established mentoring businesses into one global organisation providing access to a broader and more diverse community of mentors, while working through a single trusted relationship.

We support Chairs, CEOs, senior executives, leadership teams and boards allowing organisations to develop leaders across multiple levels through one mentoring partner.

We work closely with organisations over time, enabling us to understand their leadership challenges in depth and match mentors whose experience is most relevant to each situation.

Great leaders rarely seek mentoring only for themselves. They want their organisations to thrive and the next generation of leaders to succeed.

Global Mentors Group exists to help them do exactly that.

“Today’s leaders are required to be adaptable and focused, to anticipate risk and to continuously learn and develop. The expertise and experience of our Mentors has never been more valuable for Senior Executives providing insight and perspectives.”

Sir Roger Carr,
Chair, Global Mentors Group

As the new and externally appointed CEO, it became swiftly evident that the company’s past successes would not be continued in the future without a major shift in direction, leadership attitudes and ways of working. They developed with us, coaching and then delivering an impactful 3-day retreat for the Group Executive Committee. The clarity of direction and the honesty, curiosity and respect for each other visibly grew over the 3 days and the momentum created continues.

Former CEO,

Puma Energy

The programme helped me realise I wasn’t alone – the challenges I was facing were shared by others in the cohort and echoed by the senior leaders we heard from. It gave me the courage to keep going, to be brave and a resolve to return to my business and find ways to make it happen…I was challenged, supported, and encouraged to grow, and it made a real difference to my confidence.

Lenora Moore,

Senior Vice President of Commercial & Solutions Europe at CRH

Few experiences truly prepare you for sitting in the CEO’s seat. Chair mentoring gives leaders the rare opportunity to step out of the noise and into a space of clarity, challenge, and reflection. The calibre of the mentors, the discretion of the process and the sharp relevance to what global CEOs are facing today make this unique. If you’re looking for something ordinary, this is not it. Their mentoring is different – and that’s exactly why it works.

Ravi Kumar,

CEO, Cognizant

Being part of the year-long conversations prompted me to reflect more than I otherwise would have done, deepening my awareness of how key self-awareness is in a Chair. Paradoxically, it has also increased my confidence that I will be able to chair well – in the right context. The significance of context emerged as even more important than I had thought – and not over-committing.

Former Group CEO,

Major European PLC

We worked with Global Mentors Group while bringing new leadership and extended leadership teams together for a number of workshops over a 12 month period. The team worked closely to help us clarify and deliver against our desired outcomes, and the sessions enabled us to significantly increase our trust and collaboration, while building a vision which has resonated strongly with our wider organisation and internal stakeholders

The Original Mentor

Mentoring has its roots in one of the oldest leadership stories. In Homer’s Odyssey, Mentor was entrusted with guiding the young Telemachus while Odysseus was away — not by directing him, but by offering judgement, perspective and wisdom born of experience. This enduring idea of counsel, grounded in trust rather than instruction, remains the essence of mentoring today.

That same tradition sits at the heart of Global Mentors Group today.

We exist to provide leaders with access to seasoned peers who have walked the path before them, offering the clarity, judgement and discretion required to lead at the highest level.
