Overview

Malcolm Harrison is an experienced international executive with a track record of leading complex, multi‑country organisations across consumer goods, procurement, supply chain and public‑sector delivery. Most recently, he served as Group CEO of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS), where he strengthened the global capability of supply‑chain professionals and advanced the organisation’s mission across multiple regions, including a significantly increased focus on the GCC. Prior to this, he was CEO of the UK Government’s Crown Commercial Service, overseeing national procurement for the public sector and driving major improvements in commercial performance and operational effectiveness. As CEO, Malcolm built and developed strong leadership teams that have continued to deliver good results.

Earlier in his career, Malcolm held senior executive roles with some of the world’s leading consumer and industrial businesses. He served as Divisional CEO at Rexam plc, where he led the global plastics business spanning 48 factories and more than 13,000 employees across seven countries – he also led the successful disposal of the division. His extensive procurement and supply‑chain experience includes global Chief Procurement Officer positions at Anheuser‑Busch InBev and Nestlé, where he oversaw multinational procurement strategies, post‑merger integration and large‑scale transformation programmes. His earlier roles also included senior leadership positions at Bass (now Intercontinental Hotels Group) and a board position at Britvic Soft Drinks.

Across his executive and advisory career, Malcolm has been recognised for rapidly diagnosing performance gaps, shaping competitive strategies, and building high‑performing international teams. He now serves as a Non‑Executive Director at Chemonics Group UK and as a Senior Adviser to Efficio and Expana, contributing expertise in business leadership, procurement strategy, and agri‑food market intelligence.

Malcolm brings deep cross‑sector expertise in:

• Global procurement & supply‑chain leadership — CPO roles at AB InBev and Nestlé, driving multi‑country procurement transformation.

• Industrial & consumer goods — Divisional CEO at Rexam overseeing global plastics commercial strategy and international operations.

• Public‑sector commercial strategy — CEO of Crown Commercial Service delivering structural improvements to UK public procurement.

• Business transformation & post‑merger integration — leadership across acquisitions, disposals and global integration programmes.

Malcolm holds a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Cambridge and has built his career across multiple continents, including the UK, Europe, the GCC, West Africa, China, Brazil and the United States.

Meet the Mentors

The Original Mentor

Mentoring has its roots in one of the oldest leadership stories. In Homer’s Odyssey, Mentor was entrusted with guiding the young Telemachus while Odysseus was away — not by directing him, but by offering judgement, perspective and wisdom born of experience. This enduring idea of counsel, grounded in trust rather than instruction, remains the essence of mentoring today.

That same tradition sits at the heart of Global Mentors Group today.

We exist to provide leaders with access to seasoned peers who have walked the path before them, offering the clarity, judgement and discretion required to lead at the highest level.
