Overview

Mazin Manna is a seasoned banking leader with more than three decades of experience across international, regional and local institutions, most recently serving as Group CEO of Al Baraka Banking Group and previously as Group CEO of Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank.

In these roles he had responsibility across bank businesses and functions including Investment banking, commercial, retail, corporate and private banking divisions through periods of unprecedented growth, strategic repositioning, disciplined risk management and performance revitalisation, including the design and implementation of fintech strategies across retail and corporate banking environments.

Earlier in his career, Mazin spent 24 years with Citi, culminating in his appointment as CEO for Bahrain, with responsibility over Citi’s businesses in Saudi Arabia and leadership positions spanning corporate, commercial, private, Islamic, consumer and investment banking businesses. He also co‑headed Citigroup’s corporate and investment banking in the Middle East and held senior roles in Islamic banking and corporate finance, including Managing Director of Citi Islamic Investment Bank and Senior Credit Officer.

Subsequently, he became CEO for the Middle East and North Africa at Crédit Agricole CIB and Group Senior Country Officer for Crédit Agricole Group in the UAE, overseeing corporate and investment banking, asset management and private banking businesses, and serving on the bank’s Management Committee and Extended Executive Committee in Paris. He has chaired or served on the boards of multiple regional banking organisations and industry bodies, contributing to growth, innovation and sector sustainability.

• Corporate and Investment banking commercial, retail & Islamic banking — multi‑market leadership across conventional and Sharia‑compliant platforms.

• Turnaround, growth & governance — revitalising businesses with a disciplined risk approach and strengthening institutional performance.

• Fintech strategy & operating models — devising and implementing technology‑enabled banking strategies for retail and corporate segments.

• Regional leadership & stakeholder management — executive roles across Citi, Crédit Agricole CIB, ADIB and Al Baraka with board contributions to sector bodies.

Mazin holds a degree in Economics with a specialisation in Management Sciences from the London School of Economics and Political Science. His board service has included organisations such as the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance, the Human Resource Development Fund Bahrain and Injaz Al Arab, reflecting sustained engagement with capability building and innovation across the financial sector.
