Charles F. Lowrey
Overview
Charles F. Lowrey is the former Executive Chair of Prudential Financial, Inc,, and previously served as Chair and Chief Executive Officer. He is recognised for leading large scale transformation across the organisation, strengthening decision making and modernising a global, multi line financial services business with a 150 year heritage. He played a key role in repositioning Prudential for sustainable growth through structural simplification, innovation and international expansion.
With more than three decades of experience across financial services, investment management and real assets, Charles has led major strategic, organisational and cultural programmes, including capital deployment, and technology investment and global portfolio optimisation. Prior to becoming Chief Executive Officer, he led Prudential’s international and US businesses, served as Chief Executive Officer of PGIM and earlier led Prudential Real Estate Investors through a period of significant growth.
Charles brings extensive boardroom, governance and public company experience. He serves as a Non Executive Director of BNY Mellon and is a Council Member on the Global Leadership Council of LeapFrog Investments. He is Chair of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, a Board member of the American Academy in Rome and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Earlier in his career, Charles gained a strong foundation in investment banking at J.P. Morgan, ultimately becoming Head of Americas for Real Estate and Lodging.

• Strategic transformation, capital management and organisational redesign
• Investment management across public and private markets, including global real assets
• Technology enabled innovation and venture investment in financial services
Charles began his career in architecture and founded his own practice before transitioning into global finance. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, a Master of Architecture from Yale University, and a BA in Architecture from Princeton University.
