Prior to this, he served as Managing Director International at VAMED, leading complex multi‑country healthcare projects across the Middle East, Africa and the Asia‑Pacific region, including major expansions into the Saudi Arabian market and long‑term development programmes in Kuwait, Bahrain, Djibouti and Algeria.

Earlier in his career, Christian held multiple CEO and senior operational leadership roles within major healthcare organisations. As CEO of King’s College Hospital Dubai, he led the creation and scale‑up of one of the region’s most prominent healthcare providers, integrating UK clinical expertise with regional market requirements and driving ambitious clinical and commercial growth. Before this, he served as Hospital Director at Mediclinic City Hospital, where he oversaw key milestones including affiliation with Mohamed Bin Rashid University, establishment of the UAE’s first private‑sector organ transplant and the development of a comprehensive cancer centre. His earlier experience also includes leadership roles at the University Hospital in Basel and within Mediclinic’s European and Middle Eastern networks.

Through his executive, advisory and non‑executive roles, Christian has built a reputation for leading high‑performing, multicultural teams and enabling organisations to operate effectively in complex regulatory, financial and clinical environments. His work continues to focus on strengthening healthcare delivery, improving operational resilience and supporting sustainable growth across emerging and mature health systems.
