Overview

Christine Hodgson currently serves as Chair of Severn Trent plc, where she leads the Nominations Committee and serves on both the Corporate Sustainability and Remuneration Committees (since 2020). In 2025, she was appointed Chair of Whitbread plc, the FTSE 100-listed hospitality group, where she also chairs the Nomination Committee and sits on the Remuneration Committee. She is also Chair of Newton Group Holdings and serves as Senior Pro-Chancellor and Chair of Council at Loughborough University, where she champions governance, sustainability, and educational excellence.

Christine brings extensive executive and board-level experience, having spent 22 years at Capgemini UK. There, she progressed from Chief Financial Officer to CEO, and ultimately Executive Chair, following earlier roles as CFO for Global Outsourcing and Global Head of Corporate Social Responsibility.

Notably, she was among the first women to serve on the Capgemini Group Executive Committee, leading finance, CSR, and UK operations during a significant period of expansion.

Her non-executive portfolio includes past roles as Senior Independent Director and Remuneration Committee Chair at Standard Chartered plc (until early 2023) and Non-Executive Director at Ladbrokes Coral Group plc (until 2017).

Christine brings deep cross-sector expertise in:

• Utilities governance & sustainability – steering water infrastructure with high environmental and regulatory standards

• Technology & professional services leadership – Leading global finance, operations, and CSR in complex innovation-driven sectors

A first-class graduate in Accounting and Financial Management from Loughborough University, Christine is a Fellow of ICAEW. She was appointed CBE in 2020 for services to education. Known for her integrity, strategic acumen, and stakeholder-first ethos, she is a sought-after mentor for senior leaders navigating governance, societal impact, and transformational change.
