He also serves as a Non-Executive Director of Montis Digital, is a Lay Board Member and Chair of the Finance and Investment Committees of the University of Manchester, Chair of the Audit Committee of the London Philharmonic Orchestra and an Adviser to RGP Consulting. Across this portfolio he is known for his calm judgement, technical depth and ability to navigate complex regulatory and stakeholder environments.

David’s executive career was built in leading global investment banks. He was European CFO for Morgan Stanley, Chief Executive of Morgan Stanley Bank International and a member of the firm’s European Management Committee, overseeing finance, risk and regulatory engagement across the region. Before joining Morgan Stanley, he served as International Treasurer and European Head of the Global Banking Group for Goldman Sachs. Earlier in his career he worked for Coopers & Lybrand and the Plessey Company, giving him a strong grounding in audit, accounting and corporate finance.

Alongside his executive roles, David has developed extensive board and committee experience in banking, fintech, health, education and the arts. He has been Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit Committee at CIBC World Markets, Chair of Redwood Bank and Lead Independent Non-Executive Director of Fullerton Health in Singapore. He has also served as a member of the University of Manchester Global Leadership Board and as Deputy Chair, Honorary Treasurer and Chair of the Finance and Investment Committees of the River and Rowing Museum in Henley. This breadth enables him to bring a holistic perspective to questions of performance, purpose and risk, whether in listed companies, private enterprises or not-for-profit institutions.
