Jasmin Staiblin
Overview
Jasmin Staiblin is an accomplished industrial leader and board director with extensive experience at the helm of major multinational companies in the energy, engineering and advanced technology sectors. She currently serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Zurich Insurance Group Ltd, where since 2019 she has chaired the Risk and Investment Committee and contributed to the Audit and Remuneration Committees. Jasmin is also Chair of the Board of Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG, a subsidiary of Rolls-Royce plc, and an independent non-executive director of NXP Semiconductors N.V. In addition, she was a board member of Rolls-Royce Holdings plc and Georg Fischer Ltd for more than a decade combined.
A respected voice in energy markets, Jasmin was Chief Executive Officer of Alpiq Holding Ltd from 2013 to 2018, where she led strategic transformation and restructuring of one of Europe’s leading energy utilities. Prior to this, she served as President and Country Manager at ABB Switzerland Ltd from 2006 to 2012, following a progression of senior roles across ABB Group including Head of Marketing and Sales for the global Power Technology Division (2004–2006) and global portfolio roles across the power technology business. She began her career in technical and commercial functions at ABB after completing advanced studies in electrical engineering and physics.
Jasmin offers deep cross-sector expertise in:
• Energy & utilities – leadership of complex power and energy portfolios through market transition and digitalisation
• Technology & innovation – senior management experience across advanced engineering and industrial technology platforms
• Governance & risk management – significant contributions to audit, investment and remuneration oversight in listed and private companies
• Operational transformation & restructuring – delivering turnaround programmes, cost reductions, and organisational simplification
• M&A & investment leadership – board and CEO experience guiding transactions across the full lifecycle, from acquisition to exit, alongside private equity partners
Recognised for her strategic clarity and ability to steer organisations through turbulence and technological change, Jasmin combines operational leadership with board-level insight. She holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, specialising in high-voltage technologies, and a degree in physics from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany, complemented by studies at the Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden.
