Keith Skinner
Overview
Keith Skinner is a highly experienced Non-Executive Director, Audit & Risk Committee Chair and adviser, with a career spanning more than four decades in professional services, corporate restructuring and board governance. Following a long executive career culminating in 13 years as Chief Operating Officer of Deloitte Australia, Keith has built an extensive portfolio of listed, public sector and not-for-profit board roles, and continues to consult to organisations on strategy execution, restructuring and operational improvement as well as undertaking numerous coaching and mentoring roles.
Keith began his career as an auditor with Deloitte Australia in 1974, moving into the firm’s Restructuring Services division and becoming a partner in 1986. Over more than a decade he was one of Australia’s leading restructuring and insolvency practitioners, leading numerous corporate turnarounds through periods of acute financial and operational distress. In 2001 he was appointed Chief Operating Officer of Deloitte Australia, a role he held for 13 years until his retirement in 2015, during which he was also a member of the Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu board (1995 to 1997), a Director of the Global Deloitte Organisation (2013 to 2015), and a member of the Deloitte Global Governance and Global Risk Committees over the same period.
After retiring from Deloitte, Keith built a substantial non-executive career, serving as a Non-Executive Director of ASX-listed InvoCare Limited (2018 to 2023, as Chair of the Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee and a member of its Investment and Nomination Committees) and Emeco Holdings Limited (2017 to 2023, as Chair of the Audit and Risk Management Committee and a member of its Remuneration & Nomination Committee). He has also served as a Director of North Sydney Local Health District, Independent Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee of the Australian Digital Health Agency, Chair of Emue Technologies Limited, and a Director of the not-for-profit Lysicrates Foundation, bringing deep governance discipline to organisations across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors.

• Restructuring, turnarounds & insolvency – more than a decade as one of Australia’s leading restructuring and insolvency practitioners, leading corporate turnarounds through periods of significant financial distress.
• Audit, risk & governance leadership – chairing Audit and Risk Committees across ASX-listed companies, government agencies and public health services, and serving on global governance and risk committees for one of the world’s largest professional services firms.
• Professional services leadership & operations – 13 years as Chief Operating Officer of Deloitte Australia, overseeing the firm’s operational, financial and risk management functions through sustained growth.
• Public sector & not-for-profit governance – board and committee leadership across public health services, government digital health agencies and not-for-profit organisations, alongside listed company directorships.
Keith is known for his calm, rigorous approach to governance and his ability to bring commercial pragmatism to complex financial and operational problems, drawn from decades spent working alongside management teams and boards through periods of genuine difficulty. He draws on this depth of experience in restructuring, risk and governance to help senior leaders think clearly about accountability, financial discipline and the practical realities of operating under board and stakeholder scrutiny.
