In October 2024, he stepped down as co-founder and Executive Chair of Tellurian Inc, following the sale of the company.

Since 2000, Martin has been a member of, and chaired many Boards in several jurisdictions, including the FTSE, ASE, ASX, Nasdaq and Tadawul. He is currently the Chair of Omega Oil & Gas Ltd, and Capital Clean Energy Carriers Corp. He is also a Non-Executive Director of Energean plc, BUPA Arabia SA, CC Energy Ltd, and Singapore GASCO Pte Ltd. He is also a Senior Adviser at Moelis and Company.

Martin is a Merryck mentor and a Fellow of the Geological Society of London.

He’s on the Advisory Board of the Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs in New York and the Chair of the Philanthropy Board of Newcastle University in the UK. He spent 15 years as an invited member of the National Petroleum Council of the United States.

Martin draws on this breadth of experience to help senior leaders shape outcomes in complex, capital-intensive and politically sensitive environments. His guiding themes are leadership, team selection and performance management. He encourages clients to be honest with themselves about their career goals and to consider how their choices and actions support broader, often overlooked, personal ambitions. His philosophy is that careers and lives are marathons rather than sprints – demanding stamina, self-awareness and perspective – but also finite, which makes clarity of purpose and disciplined decision-making essential.
