Overview

Philip Levinson is an experienced CEO, board adviser and capital‑markets executive with a 40‑year career across real estate funds management, investment banking and global institutional capital raising. Most recently, he founded and lead Penmount Partners, a real‑estate‑focused capital advisory platform operating across public and private markets, where he supports institutional investors, founders and CEOs in executing strategy and strengthening capital‑allocation discipline particularly in complex or transitional environments.

Before this, he served as the founding CEO of Cromwell European REIT (CEREIT), where he led the IPO of the first pan‑European REIT listed in Singapore and oversaw its successful stabilisation and transition to successor leadership.

Earlier, Philip was CEO of Cambridge Industrial Trust, an SGX‑listed REIT, where he repositioned the portfolio, executed non‑core disposals at strong valuations and prepared the platform for a change of sponsorship that culminated in its sale to Warburg Pincus, including navigating a non‑aligned board and executing a change‑of‑strategy mandate. Prior to his CEO appointments, he held senior roles at Blackstone, LaSalle Investment Management and RREEF, where he built and led investor‑relations and capital‑raising operations across Asia Pacific. His earlier financial‑markets career included leadership roles at Westpac Institutional Bank across hotels, institutional clients and capital‑markets coverage. Philip has also contributed to the sector through various board and advisory roles, including Homesafe Solutions and HOPE Housing, as well as serving as a Founding Partner of Rockpool Partners

Across his executive and advisory work, Philip has established a reputation for guiding organisations through strategic inflection points, scaling capital‑markets platforms and mentoring CEOs navigating leadership transitions. His book, Three Peaks Leadership (2020), formally titled Three Peaks Leadership – How to Make it as a CEO (And Beyond), outlines a framework for leading, transforming and exiting top‑tier roles with discipline, strategic clarity and operational resilience.

Philip brings deep cross‑sector expertise in:

• Global real‑estate investment & REIT leadership — CEO roles at CEREIT and Cambridge Industrial Trust, leading IPOs, portfolio transformation and strategic repositioning.

• Institutional capital raising & investor relations — senior leadership at Blackstone, LaSalle and RREEF building Asia‑Pacific capital‑markets capabilities.

• Strategic advisory & COO‑level execution — supporting founders and CEOs with capital strategy, governance and operational delivery through Penmount Partners.

• Board governance & sector innovation — contributions to Homesafe Solutions, HOPE Housing and industry‑shaping initiatives.

Philip also holds a series of professional qualifications that reinforce his governance and advisory credentials: he is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and a Certified Chair with the Advisory Board Centre. In addition to his executive and board work, Philip maintains a strong commitment to community and service through his roles as an Officer in the Royal Australian Naval Reserve, an Aerial Damage Assessment Team Pilot with Disaster Relief Australia, and a Helicopter Instructor Pilot.

Meet the Mentors

The Original Mentor

Mentoring has its roots in one of the oldest leadership stories. In Homer’s Odyssey, Mentor was entrusted with guiding the young Telemachus while Odysseus was away — not by directing him, but by offering judgement, perspective and wisdom born of experience. This enduring idea of counsel, grounded in trust rather than instruction, remains the essence of mentoring today.

That same tradition sits at the heart of Global Mentors Group today.

We exist to provide leaders with access to seasoned peers who have walked the path before them, offering the clarity, judgement and discretion required to lead at the highest level.
