Sian Westerman is an experienced Non-Executive Director and Chair with a distinctive blend of corporate finance, retail and creative-industry expertise. She is currently Chair of Strathberry Limited, a fast-growing, private equity-backed and founder-led Scottish luxury handbag business, and Chair of Fenwick, the family-owned regional department store group. In 2024 she joined the Board of Shaftesbury Capital plc as a Non-Executive Director, adding listed real estate and destination retail experience to her portfolio.

Sian has held a wide range of non-executive roles across fashion, beauty and retail, including the holding company of Augustinus Bader Skin Care, Lyma Life Limited, Lane Crawford Joyce Group in Hong Kong, Anya Hindmarch, Nicholas Kirkwood, Roksanda and FaceGym. She brings deep understanding of brand, product, customer experience and international expansion, particularly in premium and luxury segments, and is experienced in supporting founders and leadership teams through growth, investment and succession.

Alongside her board roles, Sian is a Senior Adviser in the Global Advisory Division at Rothschild & Co in London, having spent much of her full-time career with the firm after qualifying as a solicitor at Slaughter and May. Sian is deeply engaged in the arts and creative sectors. She is a Non-Executive Director of the British Fashion Council, a Trustee of The Barbican Centre Trust and a member of the Corporate Advisory Group of the Royal Academy of Arts. Her previous roles include Trustee of the Royal Academy of Arts Trust for ten years, membership of the Advocates Board of the Royal Court Theatre, two full terms on the Board of English National Ballet and Chair of its Development Committee.

Sian brings deep cross-sector expertise in:

• Fashion, luxury & consumer brands – board and chair roles across handbags, fashion, footwear, beauty and department stores.

• Retail & destination real estate – experience with Fenwick and Shaftesbury Capital in omnichannel, high-street and destination retail.

• Founder-led, family-owned & private equity-backed businesses – supporting growth, governance and succession in complex ownership structures.

Meet the Mentors

The Original Mentor

Mentoring has its roots in one of the oldest leadership stories. In Homer’s Odyssey, Mentor was entrusted with guiding the young Telemachus while Odysseus was away — not by directing him, but by offering judgement, perspective and wisdom born of experience. This enduring idea of counsel, grounded in trust rather than instruction, remains the essence of mentoring today.

That same tradition sits at the heart of Global Mentors Group today.

We exist to provide leaders with access to seasoned peers who have walked the path before them, offering the clarity, judgement and discretion required to lead at the highest level.
